This policy explains what personal information NorCal Earthworks collects, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We operate out of Sacramento, CAand serve property owners across Northern California. We don't sell your data.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information only when you provide it directly to us — primarily through the estimate request form on this site. That may include:
- Your name and contact information (phone number, email address)
- Property address or location description
- Project description — what you want done, timeline, access details
- Photos or attachments you choose to upload
- How you heard about us (optional, for our own reference)
If you contact us by phone or email directly, we may retain the content of that communication and any information you share during it.
We may also automatically receive basic technical data when you visit the site — such as your browser type, device type, referring URL, and IP address — through standard web server logs or analytics tools.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information you submit is used to respond to your estimate request and, if the project moves forward, to schedule and complete work. Specifically, we use it to:
- Contact you about your project inquiry
- Prepare and deliver an estimate
- Coordinate scheduling and site access
- Follow up on open or completed projects
- Improve how we operate and communicate with prospective customers
We do not use your information for automated profiling, advertising targeting, or unsolicited marketing unrelated to your inquiry.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We may share limited data with service providers who help us operate — for example, an email delivery service that routes your form submission to our inbox. These vendors are required to handle your data only as needed to perform their service.
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our business, employees, or customers.
4. Cookies & Tracking
This site may use cookies or similar browser storage to support basic site functionality. We may use standard website analytics tools to understand general traffic patterns — pages visited, referral sources, and session duration. This data is aggregate and is not linked to your name or contact details.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not prevent you from using the estimate form or contacting us.
5. Data Retention
We retain estimate inquiries and customer communications for approximately two years from the date of the initial contact. After that period, records are deleted or anonymized unless an ongoing business relationship or legal obligation requires keeping them longer.
Project records related to completed, contracted work may be kept longer to satisfy contractor licensing, warranty, or tax obligations.
6. Your California Privacy Rights
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). You have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you and how it is used
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold
- Delete your personal information (subject to certain legal exceptions)
- Opt out of the sale of your personal information — we do not sell personal information, so this right is already satisfied
- Non-discrimination — we will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights
To submit a request, email us at Info@norcalearthworks.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will respond within 45 days.
7. Children's Privacy
This site is intended for adults making property and construction decisions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a minor has submitted information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect the information you submit — including HTTPS encryption for data in transit. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection against unauthorized access. We do not store full payment card numbers or sensitive financial data.
9. Third-Party Links
This site may include links to external sites (mapping services, licensing boards, or references). Once you leave NorCal Earthworks, this policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when our practices change or when laws require it. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
